When a SocialSchedules account is terminated, whether by the customer or by SocialSchedules, access to and use of the SocialSchedules Platform immediately ceases.
This means that once the account has been terminated, you will no longer be able to access or use the Platform through that account.
Can I cancel my account and keep my data?
SocialSchedules offers a "free" plan. In order to keep access to historical data, we recommend downgrading your account from a paid account to a free one, rather than cancelling your account. If you do cancel your account, access ceases immediately.
What does termination mean for my account data?
Our Terms & Conditions specify that your right to access and use the Platform ends immediately upon termination.
The Terms & Conditions do not specify a fixed period for how long account data may be retained after termination. If you have questions about specific data associated with your account or need clarification regarding your data, please contact SocialSchedules Support.
What about payroll data retention?
Retention periods aren't one flat number — they vary by document type and by federal vs. state rule (and the longer of the two generally applies). For example, wage/hour records, tax records, and personnel files can each carry different minimum retention windows.
Please check with your accountant or employment counsel for your business as data retention requirements can depend on factors like your state, headcount, and document type.
Regardless of data retention period, the record retention responsibility sits with the employer, rather than the payroll provider. Payroll service providers aren't obligated to retain data on your behalf after account cancellation.
If you decide to cancel your payroll account, we strongly encourage you to export and securely save your own copies of payroll data before the Salaris relationship ends. It's much easier to pull reports now than to try to reconstruct records later if you're ever audited or a wage dispute comes up.
